OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
This pose is great for detoxification and stimulation of the internal organs; which stimulates the digestive system. It is also great for spine flexibility and stretching of the mid and low back.
BENEFITS
- Great after prolonged sitting or standing.
- Improves digestion and eliminates constipation.
PREPPING FOR THE POSE
This pose can be practiced on its own, you’ll notice even greater results if practiced on a “warm body”. Poses to help you achieve that would be:
- Cat/Cow sequence
- Threading Needle
PROPS & VARIATIONS
Props are very important to a practice. They are made to assist in correct postures, and assist in injury prevention. Please use them if necessary.
- Double your mat or use a blanket for additional support.
GETTING INTO IT
Depending on your body’s capacity, you may experience:
The feet should remain together during this exercise.

- Lying on your back, feet together directly in front of the glutes.
- Bend your knees Inhale bring them to your chest.
- Exhale as you lower your legs to the right side.
- Gently turn your head and neck in the opposite position.
- Hold here 3 deep breaths before returning to the starting position.
- Practice the same on the opposite side.
